As always, I was working on the translation assignment in the middle of the night. I translate multitude of topics, from medical articles to Netflix films, into English, Japanese, or French. I’m also a member of “Translators without Borders”. Since a translation job allows me to work flexible hours from home, I’ve been doing this for a long time.

This occupation requires me to invest a vast amount of time into research (meaning, I don’t really have specialized knowledge much, but I may be  “a trivia expert” as such trivia is built up inside me whether I like it or not ), so sometimes I get off track and encounter new things. That evening was one of those nights. It happened on YouTube.

I’ve heard this… Don McLean – Vincent ( Starry, Starry Night) With Lyrics

I heard it before, but this was the first time I heard it with Van Gogh. And, I fell in love with him immediately. I then began researching Vincent van Gogh, making me fall deeper and deeper in love with him. Sometimes it was so intense, tears came to my eyes. Then, the desire to draw bloomed inside of me. This is how I came to the world of painting.
